Industrial Electrician

Job Description

JOB SUMMARY: Maintains production by ensuring operation of electrical systems and electrical components of machinery and equipment.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: All work must be performed in a safe, efficient manner in compliance with Company Policy, local, provincial and/or federal rules and regulations and the Collective Agreement; Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed; Awareness and understanding of Environmental Policy (ISO 14001) and Quality Policy (IATF 16949) guidelines and how the position's responsibilities impacts on environment and quality; Shows leadership to the workforce by his/her decision-making skills, motivational efforts, fairness and consistency so that employees are well aware of their performance and individual importance in the department; Ensures personnel performing work affecting product quality shall be competent on the basis of on-going training, appropriate education, skills and experience; Performs other duties as required by Manager/Supervisor to keep pace with changes in the scope of work.

; Repairs and replaces faulty electrical components by using testing equipment and hand tools to install relays, switches, motors, printed circuit boards and position-sensing devices; Monitors and maintains electrical equipment, parts and supplies; Places and expedites orders for required stock; Prepares daily work sheets for the supervisor's information; Uses Program Logic Controllers (PLC) for troubleshooting; QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION: College diploma and/or License in Electrical Technology .

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES AS FOLLOWS BUT NOT LIMITED TO: Seek a team approach perspective when required;; Strong electrical, mechanical, troubleshooting and organizational skills;; Ability to enforce codes/standards as related to electrical installation and safety legislation;; Ability to comprehend and make references from written material and wiring diagrams and work orders; Knowledge of methods, tools and equipment used in installation.
